New Balance sponors local Susan G Koman campaign
New Balance Sarasota & University Park provide fundraising support for the local Susan G. Komen for The Cure® with Pink Shoe Pin-Up Program
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to provide additional fundraising support to the local Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliate, New Balance Sarasota & University Park stores are participating in a national “pink shoe pin-up” campaign. Both stores are offering consumers the opportunity to purchase a pink shoe pin-up for a $5 donation. As a thank you for their donation, New Balance Sarasota and University Park owners Molly & David Jackson will provide each donor with a $10 gift certificate for a future in-store purchase at one of their stores.
Running through Oct. 31, 2012, the Jacksons have set a goal of raising $1,500 through the pink shoe pin-up campaign. Avid supporters of Susan G. Komen both personally and through their relationship with New Balance Corporate, 2012 also marks the 10th anniversary for the Jacksons public role in helping to raise money for and support this important cause.
Lace Up for the Cure Collection
In addition to the pink shoe pin-up campaign, New Balance Sarasota & University Park also offer a year-round Lace Up for the Cure Collection that is comprised of footwear, apparel and accessories all adorned with the Komen Running Ribbon. The fall 2012 collection features the New Balance 860v2 running shoe and the New Balance 847 walking shoe, a supportive cardio walking shoe and the Official Walking Shoe of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®. New Balance Corporate has committed to donate 5% of the suggested retail price of sales from the Lace Up for the Cure Collection to Komen, with a minimum donation of $500,000 for 2012. In 2011, sales from the collection contributed to a $1.26 million donation to Komen.
