Congratulations to Pine View School's high school sailing team: Nick Hernandez, Stefan Johnson, Zack Jordan, Isabella LeMole, Janson Murphy, Louisa Nordstrom, Sophia Schultz, and Sophia Sokmensaur. This past weekend, at the season's first high school regatta in Tampa, Pine View finished in third place overall, with two first-place race finishes.

Seventeen schools competed from around the state in sailing two-handed 420 boats at Davis Island Yacht Club. A total of four of the schools hailed from Sarasota County. In addition to Pine View, the local schools were Riverview and Sarasota High Schools, and Sarasota Military Academy.

The winning teams were St. Thomas Aquinas High School of Ft. Lauderdale in first place and in second, Shorecrest Preparatory School from St. Petersburg.
