SARASOTA – SunTrust Banks, Inc. today announced that Sean J. McHale has been appointed Sarasota City President.  Mr. McHale, Managing Director in Private Wealth Management, has been with SunTrust for more than 15 years, and will continue to serve in that role in addition to his new duties.

Mr. McHale joined SunTrust in 1997 as a commercial banking relationship manager in Tampa.  Over the course of his career at SunTrust, he has held increasingly responsible positions in commercial banking and private wealth management in Tampa and Southwest Florida.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in statistics from the University of Buffalo and a master’s of business administration, finance, from Rutgers University.  In the past, Sean has been active with The Florida Aquarium, American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Boy Scouts of America and the Salvation Army.   He currently serves as member of the Board of Directors and Secretary of the Pines of Sarasota Foundation.
