Update: Missing Girl and Parents En Route To Texas

Emmelia I. Ward was believed being taken into her father's car in a suspicious manner, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Update: Emmelia Ward, 10 is in the custody of her mother and biological father — Jessica and Keller Ward, both 36, and the three are en route to Texas, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

The family will meet with Texas authorities to "establish the child's safety and wellbeing," according to the sheriff's office.

Earlier: A 10-year-old Sarasota girl is reported missing, and the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to help locating her.

Emmelia I. Ward, was last seen at 6600 Peacock Road on Siesta Key, wearing a red shirt with "peace" on it with a blue and black skirt, being escored into a large grey SUV by her father Keller Ward, 36, accoridng to the sheriff's office.

Emmelia has been in the care of her maternal grandmother for the past year, according to the sheriff's office, and her father arrived at the house on Peacock Road and engaged into an altercation with the grandfather and then took Emmelia into his SUV along with Jessica Ward, 36, who is Emmelia's mother.

The sheriff's office is considering this incident suspicious as they left in a "sporadic manner" and there is outstanding civil order concerning visitation, prompting safety concerns for the child as well as the welfare of the mother, Jessica Ward.

Emmelia is described as four feet nine inches tall weighing 76 pounds while Keller Ward is described as a six feet two inches tall and weighing 186 pounds.
