2 Teens Arrested For Robbing 16 Year Old

Detectives say the victim was punched in the face, pinned against a wall then had a gun placed in his mouth before the suspects took his cell phone.

A south Sarasota teen and a homeless teen are facing aggravated battery and robbery with a firearm charges after allegedly pistol whipping and robbing a 16-year-old.

It started after the victim rode to a friend's home at the 2700 block of Herwald Street to return a borrowed bike around 11 p.m. Sunday, according to the . 

After a conversation with folks at the home, the victim walked away after putting the bike against the home and said Jonathan Walker, 19, of no fixed address, suckered punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground, then Travis Stewart, 17, of 2617 Cayman St., pinned the boy against the wall, detectives said.

Stewart then put a gun in the boy's mouth, demanded money, but took the cell phone instead, according to the probable cause affidavit.

A witness convinced Stewart to give the cell phone back and the victim started to walk away, but Stewart came after him again and struck the victim in the face with the butt of the gun, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim's father told detectives that the boy suffered a broken nose and a possible concussion from the attack, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Stewart and Walker are both charged with one count each of Aggravated Battery and Robbery with a Firearm.
