21 Captured In Sarasota Warrant Sweep

Sarasota law enforcement joined together for a warrant sweep, capturing 21 people Thursday on outstanding warrants.

Sarasota law enforcement partnered Thursday to arrest 21 people wanted on outstanding charges as part of Operation Spring Sweep.

Notable arrests included:

  • the capture of a fugitive from Mississippi who was wanted since 2011 for armed robbery,
  • the arrest of a violent offender wanted since 2012 for beating up a pregnant woman, and
  • a prolific offender wanted for vehicle theft and fraud.

Other suspects were wanted for drug trafficking, aggravated battery and DUI, as well as numerous probation violations, according to the sheriff's office.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Florida Probation & Parole conducted the warrant sweep in Sarasota County. 

Resdietns can search a public warrant database on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website to see if someone they know is currently wanted.

Visit www.SarasotaSheriff.org and under the “Corrections” tab click “Warrant Search.” Should the search results show an active warrant there is a link to submit information anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Sarasota County.
