3 Seriously Injured in Newtown Shooting

Sarasota Police have not made any arrests in the early Sunday morning shooting.

Three victims are hospitalized in serious condition after an early morning shooting Sunday in Sarasota’s Newtown neighborhood.

responded at 1 a.m. to the 2500 block of North Washington Boulevard for a multiple shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and located three victims with multiple gunshot wounds.

All of the victims were riding in a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo, when the shooting occurred. Two of the victims were still in the vehicle when officers arrived, police said.

The victims are identified as:

  • Raheem Maxwell, 20, of the 2300 block of Leon Avenue;
  • Laderrius Williams, 18, of the 3200 block of Newtown Boulevard;
  • Michael Carnegie, 18, of the 600 block of 26th Avenue in East Bradenton.

Police have not named a suspect in the case and haven’t made any arrests.
