Two Bradenton men are facing burglary charges in Sarasota after their arrest on Friday.

Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies stopped a blue 2002 Grand Marquis Friday afternoon because it matched the description provided by burglary victims and during the search of the car, deputies found a jewelry box, Xanax and a metal pry bar, according to the affidavit.

The items in the car matched the description at burglaries reported at a Woodbirch Place home that was broken into Friday and a Cedarwood Drive home burglarized Nov. 26, according to the sheriff's office.

The driver, Jeremy Maxwell, 30, of 5506 16th St. West, Bradenton, faces the following charges:

• Burglary of an unoccupied dwelling (twice)
• possession of burglary tools
• Driving with a suspended license
• Habitual Traffic Offender

Passenger Michael Mullins, 22, of 5318 7th Ave. Drive West, Bradenton, faces the following charges:

• Burglary of an unoccupied dwelling (twice)
• Possession of burglary tools (twice)
• Possession of controlled substance

Mullins is also on felony probation for Grand Theft in Manatee County, according to the sheriff's office.

Additional items were found in the car and investigators believe they are from other burglaries and more charges are pending, according to the sheriff's office.

Mullins' sister told investigators that her brother told her that he was burglarizing homes and only breaks into homes if he finds an open window, according to the sheriff's office, and that her brother has a "horrible pill addiction and that he is constantly out with bad people at all hours of the day."
