Man Arrested for Robbery Outside of Dutch Heritage
Joshua Duncan of Nokomis is accused of stealing the victim's Coach handbag, with cash inside.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested the suspect accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Dutch Heritage restaurant on Bahia Vista Street.
Detectives say just before 10 p.m., on Jan. 17, Joshua Duncan, 22, of 1500 Morgan St., in Nokomis, approached the victim, pointed a handgun at her and demanded “everything.” She gave the suspect her purse, with $130 cash inside, and he fled the scene.
Detectives determined Duncan gave the purse to a friend, Taylor Ciszek, who pawned the Coach bag at Superpawn, after the robbery, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Duncan is charged with robbery with a firearm, according to the Sheriff's Office.
