Man Arrested in Triple Shooting

Police say the suspect, Rashad Steen, 20, has a lengthy criminal history dating back a decade.

Sarasota Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to a .

Rashad Lee Steen faces three counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, according to court records.

Police believe there are additional people involved in the shooting Sunday and are continuing their investigation.

Steen, who was listed as homeless at the time of the arrest, has 19 felony arrests and a lengthy criminal history dating back to when he was 10 years old, Capt. Paul Sutton of Sarasota Police said.

Sutton added he expects additional arrests to be made in this case.

responded at 1 a.m. Sunday to the 2500 block of North Washington Boulevard for a multiple shooting, after witnesses heard 40 to 50 shots fired. Officers arrived on the scene and located three victims with multiple gunshot wounds.

All of the victims were riding in a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo, when the shooting occurred. Two victims were still in the vehicle, police said.

The victims are identified as:

  • Raheem Maxwell, 20, of the 2300 block of Leon Avenue;
  • Laderrius Williams, 18, of the 3200 block of Newtown Boulevard;
  • Michael Carnegie, 18, of the 600 block of 26th Avenue in East Bradenton.

Williams and Maxwell were taken to ; Carnegie was transported to .
