Mobile Health Services Offered in April
Sarasota County is offering free and low-cost adult immunizations and screenings at several sites in April.
Free and low-cost health health services that include testing and adult immunizations will be offered in April at a half-dozen sites by the county health department's Motion Mobile Medical Unit.
The following services will be offered:
- Diabetes education and screening,
- Blood pressure tests,
- Pregnancy testing,
- HIV testing,
- Body mass index (BMI) measurement,
- Adult Immunizations (at some locations)
No appointment is needed, and most services are provided aboard a visiting 40-foot long bus parked at various locations. (See dates and locations below.)

Some services are free, including HIV rapid testing with results in 20 minutes. Other services are provided on a sliding-fee scale based on income. A registered nurse is available at all sites.
People without medical insurance also are assisted in finding regular medical care.

The following is a schedule of dates and locations for the mobile unit:
- Sarasota: Salvation Army, 1400 10th St., Thursdays, April 4, 11 and 18, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Sarasota: Veterans Stand Down Event, Sarasota County Health and Human Services, 2200 Ringing Blvd., Saturday, April 20, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Venice: Goodwill Center, the Rialto, 650 S. Tamiami Trail, Monday, April 1, 9:30 a.m.-noon
- Venice: The Salvation Army Family Store, 1160 U.S. 41 Bypass South, Wednesday, April 3, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Venice: Venice Community Center, 326 Nokomis Ave. S., Wednesday, April 10, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
- North Port: St. Nathaniel's Episcopal Church, 4200 S. Biscayne Drive, Friday, April 5, 9 a.m.-noon.
- North Port: Goodwill Manasota Center of North Port, 14809 Tamiami Trail, Monday, April 8, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
