Orioles Unload 'Everything But the Crab Cakes' into Ed Smith Stadium

, as the Baltimore Orioles unload a van full of supplies into its Baseball Operations Center and on Saturday.

"We've brought everything but the crab cakes," said Laura Williams, Orioles director of Florida Operations.

A Von Paris truck left Oriole Park at Camden Yards Wednesday, started down Thursday and got into Sarasota Friday night, she said.

"You always know spring started when the Von Paris truck arrived," Williams said.

Practice opens Feb. 19 and is free to the public. The Orioles will use both the Ed Smith complex and the Buck O'Neil Baseball Complex, 6700 Clark Rd., where minor leaguers will concentrate on their workouts and practices, she said.

The O's might have left the crab cakes behind, but is there any chance fans will see familiar concessions like National Bohemian beer, Utz chips, or perhaps some Boog's BBQ?

"The club is continuing looking to bringing in touches of Camden Yards," Williams said.

"They are looking to bringing in product that's going to parallel what we have up in Camden Yards. We're looking to create an experience in the left field pavilion area what fans are used to on Eutaw Street," she said.

"It's a progression. Each spring the community is going to see something different — see an added touch that will remind them of home."

The first game is March 5 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. .
