Radiant Power Corp to Increase Manufacturing

Production of underwater acoustic locator beacons for the aviation and marine markets will move to near the SRQ airport.

Radiant Power Corp, a HEICO company (NYSE: HEI.A and HEI) is integrating HEICO’s Dukane Seacom business into the Radiant Power business located near the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.

Dukane Seacom is a leading supplier of underwater acoustic locator beacons for the aviation and marine markets. Dukane Seacom beacons are installed on the fleet of global commercial aircraft, military fixed wing and rotary aircraft, and is used in maritime and specialty underwater applications.

HEICO acquired the Illinois-based Dukane Seacom business in 2009 and recently decided to move the business to its southern Manatee County facility. The current Radiant Power facility has adequate manufacturing and engineering space available for the Dukane Seacom division.

An expansion will be necessary to accommodate the unique testing requirements for ultrasonic locator beacons. The expansion, move, and integration is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.

Dukane Seacom currently employs 34 people and some of those employees will be invited to move with the business.

Radiant Power Corp is a designer and manufacturer of emergency power supplies, power management systems, passenger comfort electronics, and sensors and instruments in the aerospace market. Radiant Power’s products are installed on several models of commercial, business, and general aviation aircraft, as well as military fixed wing and rotorcraft.

HEICO Corporation is engaged primarily in certain niche segments of the aviation, defense, space, medical, telecommunication and electronic industries through its Hollywood, FL-based Flight Support Group and its Miami, FL-based Electronic Technologies Group.

HEICO’s customers include a majority of the world’s airlines and overhaul shops as well as numerous defense and space contractors and military agencies worldwide in addition to medical, telecommunication and electronic equipment manufacturers.
