The police's Crimes Against Children United responded to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg call for suspected child abuse to a two-and-a-half-month-old infant, according to the police.
Police say the infant had suffered severe injuries because someone crushed her rib cage.

As a result, police charged Ella Marie McCulligh of the 1400 block of 18th Street for the abuse charge and transported her to Sarasota County Jail.
