Woman Killed, Four Others Injured in Drive-By Shooting

Twenty-two year-old Naomi Clyburn was killed at the scene and four others were sent to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

A drive-by shooting in north Sarasota early this morning left a woman dead and five others injured while police are searching for the suspects.

Naomi M. Clyburn, 22, was shot and killed at the scene on 30th Street, where she also had lived, said Capt. Paul Sutton of the . Four other people were also shot in the area of 30th Street and Leon Avenue at 2:30 a.m., he said.

Three victims were transported to for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The other shooting victim was transported to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton for a serious injury.

Witnesses told police shots were fired from an aqua blue Chevrolet pick-up truck with custom wheels and tinted windows, which was found abandoned on Cocoanut Avenue near Highland, Sutton said.
