A 63-year-old Sarasota woman is being treated for serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening. 

Florida Highway Patrol responded to Beneva Road near Parkland Avenue at 6:05 p.m. where they found Glenda B. Dotson inside a 2006 Hyundai Tucson that traveled across Beneva Road before it crashed into a guy wire and privacy fence, according to Highway Patrol.

Witnesses told Highway Patrol that the driver appeared to be slumped over the steering wheel as the Hyundai drove across the raised grass median and northbound lanes on Beneva Road.

Dotson was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries, according to Highway Patrol.
