360 Degrees PR Welcomes King

360 Degrees PR, a Sarasota-based public relations agency, welcomes Alicia King as an Account Executive – Public Relations.

Specializing in consumer public relations and media relations, King brings over seven years of experience to the agency. In her new role, King is responsible for public relations and account management activities, including PR planning, media relations and social media management for the agency’s clients.

Most recently, she handled the public relations, marketing and media at the Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County for two years. Prior to that, King worked at Clarke Advertising & Public Relations on various clients, including ClosetMaid, Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates, Florida Prepaid College Board and Remington, among others.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding our account team in response to the agency’s tremendous growth,” said Candice McElyea, president of 360 Degrees PR. “Alicia’s diverse background will further support our team and allow us to better serve our clients.”

A Venice, Fla. native, King is a contributor to This Week in Sarasota with fashion-inspired content. She attended the University of Florida, where she received a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a concentration in business administration.

Founded in 2012 by owner and president Candice McElyea, 360 Degrees PR handles public relations strategy, press writing and social media marketing for a diverse group of clients – locally and nationally – as well as political and image consulting, messaging and media coaching.

McElyea, a former television journalist, has lived in Sarasota since 1984. She is a graduate of the University of Florida’s School of Journalism and Communications. McElyea is an alumni of Leadership Sarasota 2011, the Gulf Coast Leadership Institute 2012 and was a finalist for the Greater Sarasota Chamber Young Professional of the Year in 2013. She was selected as the Business Observer’s 40 Under 40 in 2012 for her work with PoliticallyPersonal.com, a political blog she co-founded in 2012. McElyea is an active community advocate, having served of the boards of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County and currently for Girls Inc. She donates her time to several other area nonprofit organizations.
