Local Letter Carriers get fired up for the largest food drive in the nation!

All Faiths Food Bank will again benefit from “Stamp Out Hunger,” the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive. Food Bank CEO Sandra Frank stopped by to thank Postmaster Sherri Creasor and staff and share with them just how much their food drive means to our neighbors in need.

“The Letter Carriers Food Drive is what keeps us going through the lean summer months,” said Sandra Frank, All Faiths Food Bank CEO. “This year, as a result of the Campaign Against Summer Hunger, we anticipate more participation than ever among residents – we hope to double the totals from last year’s Drive. We are so fortunate to be a recipient of the food collected by our letter carriers, and live in such a caring community.”

On Saturday, May 10, 2014, residents are asked to put a bag of nonperishable food near their mailbox for pickup. Now in its 22nd year, the Food Drive is the nation’s largest single-day effort of its kind. Most needed food items include peanut butter, jelly, canned tuna, ham, and chicken, beans, and powdered milk.
