Your Toddler Could be a Little Naturalist

Looking for an alternative to the typical playgroup? Then bring your toddler or preschooler to connect with nature in fun, creative ways at Sarasota County Government's exciting nature program, The Little Naturalist. Any children ages 2 to 4, that come to Phillip Estate Park from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, to receive a short guided nature walk where they can be involved in a a variety of hands-on nature themed activities and receive a snack and story. All participating children must be registered and accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. For more information about the program, please contact Brie Ondercin at 941-232-9993.

The United States Breastfeeding Committee is working to promote Breastfeeding as the preferred and most appropriate source of nutrition for infants. It has been proven to protect against disease and provides a foundation for lifelong health and wellness. 

Avoid Old Bradenton Road

As part of the Old Bradenton Road improvement project, a significant traffic diversion started August 8 with northbound and southbound traffic near 47th Street being temporarily routed through a semicircular area with road striping and construction barricades. Drivers are advised to be vigilant and follow the traffic control devices. Workers will be on site to direct motorists.

Officials Wanna Know What You Think About Historic Preservation

State and county staff will host a public input session from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15 at Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota, on a proposed Statewide Comprehensive Historic Preservation Plan. The plan has been developed by the Florida Department of State's Division of Historical Resources.

Pay Your Utility Bill at Amscot

The City of Sarasota has expanded its partnership with local businesses to offer more locations for residents to pay their utility bills in person by partnering with Amscot. You are now  able to pay your utility bill seven days a week at any area Amscot location.
