Hymn for Her and Come Back Alice to Perform at the Sarasota Bay Water Festival November 2

The bands Hymn for Her and Come Back Alice will perform at the Sarasota Bay Water Festival on Saturday, November 2 at Ken Thompson Park in Sarasota. They join popular guitarist Ben Hammond who is back again as the performing MC on the music stage. The festival hours are 10am to 5pm and the live music runs from noon until 7pm.

Hymn for Her has been touring the U.S. for three months in their vintage 1961 Bambi Air Stream trailer from their home base in Philadelphia. The band’s music style has been described as juiced-up backwoods country blues with a dose of desert rock psychedelia or Hells Angels meets the Amish. Come Back Alice is a funky eclectic rock band featuring Tony Tyler on lead guitar, harmonica and vocals, Dani Faye on fiddle, guitar and vocals, and Big Bad John Werner on bass. The festival MC Ben Hammond has shared his unique brand of live-looped Acoustic Soul-Pop with audiences at hundreds of venues and festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival.

One final band and two solo act performers will be added to the music lineup over the next couple weeks. The final performance schedule will be posted on the festival website in mid September at sarasotabaywaterfestival.com.

The purpose of the water festival is to celebrate the importance of Sarasota Bay to the region’s environment and economy. The Sarasota Bay Estuary Program is the Presenting Sponsor and HDR, Inc. is the Host Sponsor. Other highlights include dragon boat races, artists selling gift items, food trucks and local restaurants, boat displays, panel discussions on bay-friendly living, the winning submissions to the I Love Sarasota Bay Photo Contest, dip netting and nature walks for kids, and exhibits on boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboard sports, scuba, cycling, and more.

Raffle prizes include a 12-foot Perception Sport Kayak from Economy Tackle and Dolphin Paddlesports, a Hovie Scout Paddleboard from SUP Sarasota, and an 18 X 20 inch matted Giclee print from the acclaimed Florida photographer Clyde Butcher. Raffle tickets will be drawn at 5pm on the music stage.
