Norton Hammersley Continues Successful Internship/Scholarship Program With Riverview High School

Sarasota, Florida – August 20, 2013 – Norton Hammersley continues its exclusive scholarship/internship program for Riverview High School IB students interested in pursuing a legal career. Nicholas Dynin is the third student to complete the three-week program since its inception in July 2012.

The scholarship/internship initiative educates and encourages future college students by allowing one-on-one access to attorneys. This real-world collaboration provides a thorough, comprehensive look into what it takes to practice law. Upon his completion of the program, Nicholas was presented with scholarship funds for a college of his choice. James Cramer, a sophomore entering into Riverview’s IB program, concluded the program in the summer of 2012, and Samantha Weinmann-Smith, a junior in Riverview’s IB Program, completed the firm’s scholarship/internship program earlier this year.

Norton Hammersley plans to continue its work with the Riverview High School IB Program several times a year to give their students an opportunity to have a hands-on experience in the legal field. Students are chosen for the program by Dr. Gallagher, the IB Program Director at Riverview High School, and must be available 2-3 hours a day, three days a week for three weeks to complete approximately 27-30 hours. The times and dates of participation vary depending on the activities available as well as the schedules of the students and the attorneys.
