Tickets on Sale for JFCS 10th Annual Celebrity Chefs & Wine Tasting & Golf Challenge

JFCS has opened ticket sales for its 10th Annual Celebrity Chefs Food & Wine Tasting & Golf Challenge to be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at The Resort at Longboat Key Club.  The golf tournament begins at 12:30 p.m. and the ticket price is $350 for both the golf outing and tasting event. Tickets for the evening’s food and wine tasting only, which goes from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., cost $100 each.  Event sponsorships are also available.

The annual charity event, benefiting JFCS, usually sells out and hosts more than 600 guests who choose to either spend the day golfing on the Islandside Golf Course and/or enjoying a party to sample specialty dishes prepared by 26 local chefs as well as libations at wine stations, a martini bar, or old fashion egg creams. Guests will also enjoy a silent auction, prize drawing, and island music while networking with friends from near and far.

Restaurants to be featured this year include Bridge Street Bistro, Café Americano, Café Bacci, Café L’Europe, Chart House, Darwin’s, Jack Dusty, Ker’s Winghouse, Kobernick House Dining Room, Libby’s Café + Bar, Louies Modern, Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub, Mattison’s, Michael’s On East, Morton’s Gourmet Market, Pacific Rim, Randabi’s – a New York Deli, Sarasota Yogurt Company, Selva Grill, Shore Diner, The Francis, Toasted Mango Café, Tommy Bahama, TooJay’s Gourmet Deli and Restaurant, and the restaurants of the Lido Beach Resort, Hilton Longboat Key Beachfront Resort, The Resort at Longboat Key Club, and University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee College of Hospitality & Technology Leadership.

“This year we changed the format a bit to allow for more sampling and mingling,” commented event Co-chair and JFCS Board Member Lauren Fineman. “My personal favorite is the new chance drawing that will remind the winner all year of JFCS and this grand event!”

Proceeds from the event enable JFCS to continue serving those most vulnerable in our community - children, adults, seniors, and veterans. JFCS provides a wide array of counseling, financial assistance, and social services to anyone in need regardless of his or her faith and on a non-denominational basis. Last year, more than 20,000 individuals were helped thanks in part to the generosity and support of individuals and corporations through events and donations.
