Best Places to Watch the Bayfront Fireworks

Sarasota Patch gives you the best places to get a view of downtown Sarasota's fireworks display along the bayfront.

There are several places Sarasotans can get a glimpse of Monday's fireworks. Sarasota Patch gives you five suggestions for the best and most unique views of the Sarasota fireworks along the bayfront. Since the show begins at dusk and parking is limited, get there early.

1. : If you wish to take on the crowds, you can get an up-close seat to the show. From Dolphin Island you can watch the fireworks up close. Bring the lawn chair and blanket, but get there early. Parking will be a premium and the city will shut down the lot once it is full.

2. : If you want a little less crowded view but still be up close, consider Selby Gardens. The venue is hosting a special party starting at 6pm. Children’s activities and lawn games for the entire family will take place on the Great Lawn. An all American BBQ and Cook-out as well as beer, wine, soda, and other beverages will be available for purchase. Tickets are $20 for adults; $17 for members; children 11 and under enter free. Purchase tickets online at www.selby.org

3. Hart's Landing: Parking is very limited but this may be the only park in Sarasota that you can see the entire show without the crowds. Heading towards St. Armands take a right before crossing the bridge and grab one of the few parking spots.

4. John Ringling Bridge: Get a birds eye view of the explosions in the sky as the show begins at dusk and is expected to last until 9:15pm, weather permitting. Park downtown and walk along the bridge for the lights, and fireworks over Sarasota's skyline.

5. : Don't let the limited parking deter you. After you cross the Ringling Bridge toward St. Armands stop by Bird Key Park for a breathtaking view of the fireworks over Sarasota Bay. Park and walk east along the trail towards downtown to see the fireworks.
