Truck Jack-Knifes on I-75, Snarling Traffic for Hours

The truck had slowed because of an accident, when another vehicle cut in front of the driver, causing him to slam on the brakes.

Holiday traffic was a holiday mess Wednesday afternoon for commuters on I-75, when a tractor-trailer driver hit the brakes and his vehicle jack-knifed.

Rigoberto Gonzalez of Hialeah, Florida, was driving south on I-75, when traffic slowed to a crawl because of a fatal crash at Mile Marker 173.

Gonzalez said another vehicle cut him off as he slowed for traffic. Gonzalez hit his air brakes and turned the wheel, causing his truck to travel off the road and jack-knife on the west shoulder.
