Diana Ross to Receive a Key to the City of Sarasota

Officials plan to present Ross with the gift following her concert at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Wednesday.

When Diana Ross speaks of the City of Sarasota, she may declare, "it's my house."

That's because Vice Mayor Willie Shaw will present the key to the city to the music legend following her 8 p.m.performance at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, on Wednesday.

Shaw said he's admired Ross and her tremendous achievements over the years and he will be honored to present her with the gift.

“When someone is given the Key to the City, it recognizes an outstanding contribution or accomplishment," Shaw said in a press release. "It also symbolizes that the person is always welcome in our city. And, Ms. Ross certainly always will be welcome in Sarasota.”

I guess that means our house is Diana Ross' house too!
