Siesta (Key) Fiesta Is This Weekend

Siesta Key Village's annual spring celebration – the Siesta Fiesta – is Saturday and Sunday, welcoming locals and tourists, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The 35th annual arts festival is an outdoor juried art show, with plenty of original artwork on display and for sale. Admission is free.

In addition to featuring 250 artists and crafters, there also will be food vendors and activities for the kids.

It takes places along Ocean Boulevard and Beach Road in Siesta Key Village. The artists will line Ocean Boulevard while the crafters will display their unique and affordable crafts throughout Siesta Key Village for a sidewalk craft fair.

Here are some highlights:

• Festival patrons can register to win a 12" x 18" gallery wrapped print of “Day at the Beach” by participating photographer Linda Mayes, valued at $85. Registration will take place at Linda Mayes' booth on Saturday during festival hours and on Sunday until 4:00 pm, when the drawing will take place.   No purchase is necessary to participate in this giveaway.
• Sarasota author Julie Woik will be signing copies of her children’s book series, "The Life and Times of Lilly the Lash," during the two-day festival. More than just storybooks, these beautifully illustrated works of art offer boys and girls an exciting adventure, hundreds of entertaining educational activities, and important life lessons.
• The Green Market will feature exotic plants and orchids, body products and gourmet spices, jams, dips and spreads

All artists and crafters will be present for the duration of the show, available to discuss their work and inspiration.

Ocean Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at Ocean and Canal and running through to Beach Road.  

A trolley service, Siesta Shuttle, will provide transportation to Siesta Fiesta from Southgate Mall, located on Highway 41 and Siesta Drive. It and will run every half hour.

Just park at Westfield Southgate Mall at 3501 S. Tamiami Trail and pick up the shuttle at the NW corner of the mall next to Banana Republic and William-Sonoma.

Round trip day passes are $5 for adults and free for children under 12 years old.
