Sometimes trying to explain Atomic Holiday Bazaar to a person who has managed to miss the last seven years can be clunky. I use the phrases "Not your granny's craft show." or "It's a craft show that won't make you puke." But the puke word either makes people laugh or they just stare at me blankly.
