Atomic Holiday Bazaar raffle for Cat Depot with some help by the talented Fringe Salon & Spa.

A raffle for Cat Depot, it's like the Golden Ticket of indie-craft; it's like if you won you'd be the biggest winner in the land; it's like if your ticket were picked you're set for gift giving for the year; it's like hitting the lotto except indie-craft style; it's like winning a trip to the moon except you're not. To borrow a great quote, "Buy a ticket, take the ride."

Atomic Holiday Bazaar @ the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium.
Saturday, December 14 & Sunday, December 15
Noon - 5PM / $5 Adults - 12 & Under Free
165 indie-craft Vendors in both the Main Auditorium and Bay Front Room.

Atomic Holiday Bazaar loves animals and while I can't vouch for all of my vendors, many of them gave a generous hand made donation for a raffle in support of local Sarasota non-kill/non-profit cat shelter The Cat Depot. Implying to me, that most Atomic vendors dig cats. I'm very "science'y" that way with my mathy statistics.  The Cat Depot is located at 2542 17th Street, Sarasota, FL 34234, open seven days a week.  Please check their website to see if they have special holiday hours.

The Cat Depot is a wonderful cat shelter, I should know I recently adopted a male ten year old cat named Jazz.  And yes, he has "Jazz Hands" he taps me in the morning while I am typing to high five and say hello.  The Cat Depot has a holiday special due to the high number of kittens and adult cats the facility has taken in and these cats need permanent homes. Adoption fees for the entire month of December have been reduced to $50. You may read about the Cat Depot Adoption Fee Special HERE.  This includes includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and veterinary exam and more, please read in detail about Cat Depot adoptions at their website.  In 2014 the Cat Depot will begin to offer affordable pet care clinics.

Recently and unexpectedly, I was contacted by the owners of Fringe Spa and Salon located at 18 Goodrich Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34236.  The owners, Karen and Rob Galkoff and their family just moved to Sarasota from the UK to start a new life and business.  Karen asked if anyone was doing hair and makeup for the Atomic models. It's been a few years since Atomic has worked with a salon so I jumped at the chance to work with them.

Now how do Atomic Holiday Bazaar, Cat Depot and Fringe Spa and Salon blend together?  Let me break it down:

  • Atomic Holiday Bazaar ~ collects donated indie-craft from Atomic vendors which will then be compiled with one lucky winner winning the entire bounty of hand made arts and crafts
  • Fringe Spa & Salon ~ models will have hair and makeup done at Atomic (yes, you may watch!) by the fabulous professionals of Fringe. Look for the models who will be walking the floor selling raffle tickets to the Atomic crowd, these glitzy gals in vintage beaded tops can't be missed!  Fringe Spa & Salon will be located on the balcony in the auditorium and if you want to visit them during the Atomic shows, they are offering a few quick services such as:
  • A splash of colour extensions made from real Remyhair $15 per weft - choose from 15 fabulous bright colours!
  • Blowouts, flat iron and curling irons from $20 upwards.
  • Beautiful eyes that will last you late into Saturday night, from$15
  • Cat Depot ~ receives all raffle funds raised during the Atomic weekend. And you may visit the Cat Depot table in the front foyer across from the Admission table to view pics of adoptable cats and kittens, learn more about their organization and the important work Cat Depot does for our Sarasota cat and human community along with viewing that awesome bounty of indie-craft and you may purchase raffle tickets at the Cat Depot table.
