I have never been huge on Valentine's Day. I don't normally go for the gimmicky Hallmarky stuff.
My birthday falls four days after VD Day and historically I have either broken a few hearts around that weird four day period or have had my heart handed or shoved back to me. Thankfully it appears those dramatic days are over.
However, if one must get all romantical on February 14th, I think the best way to do it is to try doing something a bit off the beaten path. Don't waste your time with some chain restaurant, jammed full of people who look way happier than you and your partner. Just kidding. Really, I am JUST KIDDING.
Nothing says I love you more than a good home cooked meal AND dessert (that is a giant must for me) AND bubbly. And if you are feeling extra generous, a little gift or two never hurts.
