Brasserie Belge Closes

Owner to "focus on a new venture" elsewhere.

Belgium-themed restaurant Brasserie Belge served up its last Belgian waffles on Saturday.

The restaurant closed so the owner, Christian Zebier, can focuse on a new venture elsewhere, according to a news release.

Zebier recently launced La Table du Chef, a gourmet delivery boxed meal and catering service, according to graphic design site BoostStudio.com:

Christian challenged us to create a brand that would encompass 3 phases of the La Table  roll-out: Phase 1, delivery of gourmet boxed meals; Phase 2, on-location catering; Phase 3, gourmet boxed meals available in only finer markets in the region. He also added another challenge for the identity in particular: no symbols of food, chef, table, or eating. The icon that pairs with the identity must be abstract and the palette must be a fresh color of green with black and white accents.

Zebier "is grateful for the support of so many in the community and hopes Sarasotans will visit his new restaurants in their various locations around Florida and internationally," according to the news release.
