Business Owners Can Meet the Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus

Oleg Kravchenko to Connect with Sarasota Business Owners This Week


SARASOTA, FL (March 23, 2014) - The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg Kravchenko, is visiting Sarasota from March 24 - 27th. He is hosting a cocktail reception for Sarasota’s business leaders on Thursday, March 27th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, 1111 Ritz Carlton Drive.  Tickets for the event are $40.  The reception will take place from 5:30pm to 6:30pm followed by the Ambassador’s presentation from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. There is limited seating for this event. “The Ambassador wishes to share the benefits of doing business with Belarus,“ said Romanchikova. “There are many opportunities for Sarasota businesses in Belarus, and the Ambassador is eager to make this information available to the community.”

Oleg Kravchenko has been a representative for diplomatic relations in Belarus since 1994, and has served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Belarus in Stockholm and held several positions at the Foreign Ministry including the Head of the Bilateral International Treaties Division. He is a member of the Belarus delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency of the United Nations. Kravchenko, his wife and three children moved to the United States in 2007, when he first served as the interim-director of the Belarus Embassy. He was appointed as the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus shortly after in 2008.


“Kravchenko was instrumental in establishing and promoting Belarus’ international cooperation on combating international terrorism, transnational organized crime, trafficking nuclear materials, persons and illegal migration,” said Romanchikova.

Kravchenko will be introduced by Mikhail Morgulis, a Russian-Ukrainian writer, Laureate and president of the Spiritual Diplomacy Foundation. The Spiritual Diplomacy Foundation which operates within the United Nations, is headquartered in North Port.  Larisa Romanchikova, the event’s coordinator, is a resident of Sarasota. She was recently appointed as the Director of the Russian American Chamber of Commerce’s Florida Office.
