Jacobs to Speak to Congressional Philanthropy Caucus

Debra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation, will speak on a four-person panel of foundation leaders from across the country March 6 during a Congressional Philanthropy Caucus briefing in Washington, D.C.

The panel is part of the program Understanding the Role of American Philanthropy, an initiative of the Council on Foundations to increase awareness of the many roles of American philanthropy in communities across the country. It provides Congress and their staff members with a way to engage with the philanthropic sector, including the ways in which philanthropy works both independently and in collaboration with states and the federal government.

“It’s an honor to participate in this briefing to Congress, showcasing the best of American philanthropy and collaborations with government,” Jacobs said. “We have much to share as we continue our first-ever public-private partnership with the National Cemetery Administration to create Patriot Plaza, the ceremonial amphitheater at Sarasota National Cemetery. We are showcasing nationally the imaginative excellence philanthropy can bring to government collaborations.”
