Omega3 Innovations Named as a Finalist for the 2013 SupplySide Editor’s Choice Awards
In November, Omega3 Innovations will travel to Las Vegas as a finalist in the SupplySide Editor’s Choice Awards, armed with its chocolate-covered Omega Heaven cookie competing in the omega-3 category.

The annual SupplySide Editor’s Choice Awards select five consumer packaged goods (CPG) products that exhibit achievements in innovation and market significance. Products are chosen from 15 different categories, including antioxidant supplements, functional foods, multivitamins, and omega-3s. One winner in each category will be announced atSupplySide West 2013 during the SupplySide Editor’s Choice Awards Reception, set for Nov. 13, 2013 at The Venetian in Las Vegas.

"We believe the Omega Heaven features a winning combination of both great taste and medical effectiveness," said Anne-Marie Chalmers, MD, Omega3 Innovations’ other co-founder.
According to Chalmers, each Omega Heaven cookie contains 1000 mg of EPA/DHA from fresh, full-spectrum cod liver oil – or roughly the equivalent serving found in three to four fish oil capsules. In addition, the Omega Heaven is made with gluten-free whole oats and non-alkalized dark chocolate - two ingredients the founders say are also nutrient-dense superfoods. "The Omega Heaven can replace traditional fish oil capsules for many consumers, and provide a healthy breakfast meal in addition," said Chalmers. "That’s the kind of innovation that will appeal to the editors at SupplySide."
