Peter Bartolotta named President of North Port Economic Development Corporation

The North Port Economic Development Corporation named Peter Bartolotta as President. The private sector non profit organization was founded in August 2011 and has been run by an all volunteer Board of Directors with an all volunteer Advisory Board.

Since it's inception, the NPEDC has been instrumental in implementing several vision initiatives that will create over 1,700 jobs in North Port and generate over $270 million in new construction for North Port . The initiative teams are made up of local and regional industry leaders who have been working for over a year on the five vision initiatives. More information on the initiatives and the organization can be found on the NPEDC website: www.northportedc.com.

Robert Rosenberg, Chair of the NPEDC Board of Directors made the announcement of the Board’s decision to hire Peter as the organizations first paid executive starting July 1. “Peter Bartolotta has been instrumental in the NPEDC as a founding member of the group and has been spearheading the organizations initiatives, programs and day to day operation since it's inception and we believe  there is nobody better qualified than Peter in our area to oversee this effort”   said Rosenberg.

Richard Satcher, Market CEO, Peace River and Charlotte Regional Medical Centers, and Vice Chair of the NPEDC said that the success of the all volunteer NPEDC to date has been overwhelming in terms of generating significant outcomes for the five vision initiatives and the momentum of the organization moving forward will be putting Peter at the helm which is what the NPEDC needs to continue driving the initiatives and programs forward to fruition.

The entire Board of Directors was enthusiastic and supportive of putting together a staff and continuing the mission of the organization to create catalysts for North Port that drive economic metabolism for the health and welfare of our community. The organization will also be moving into permanent offices within the next several weeks and is in the process of creating a new more user friendly website which will be announced shortly. The organizations funding is through corporate and individual membership support and receives no government funding.
