The Xfinity Olympic Experience: Every Minute. Every Medal. Every Screen. Unlike Ever Before

The London Olympic Games marked a milestone for television, becoming the most-watched event in television history.  And on February 6, the Winter Games from Sochi are expected to become the most technologically advanced viewing experience for any Winter Olympic Games.

But what does this really mean for viewers?  For Xfinity TV customers it means the ability to watch every moment of Olympics action across multiple platforms and in more ways than ever before. 

In fact, Xfinity TV customers will have access to more than 1,500+hours of NBCUniversal’s Winter Olympic programming, including every Olympic competition live across NBC, NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), MSNBC, CNBC, and USA Network, and on Xfinity On Demand.   

But that’s not all.  New for these Games is that Xfinity customers can watch live streaming coverage accessible on their TV via the X1 platform.  For the first time, the NBC Sports Live Extra app, with over 1,000 hours of live streaming coverage, will be accessible on the TV on the X1 platform. 

This anytime, anywhere coverage of the Games, initially only accessible on tablets and mobile devices, will now be on your television.  X1 will let viewers access the NBC Sports Live Extra app on their TV, allowing them to see live medal counts, access highlights, replays and athlete profiles as they watch live or recorded events.

People can also stay connected to the Sochi Olympic Winter Games on PCs and mobile devices via NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports Live Extra app for iOS and Android devices.   There is a special Olympics microsite at www.Xfinity.com/Olympics to make it a one-stop viewer’s guide to help customers find and discover anything they want about the Olympics.  It will even take them directly to the NBC Sports Live Extra app if they’re accessing the site from a mobile device.

The NBC Sports Live Extra app on X1 gives Xfinity TV customers the ability to watch all the action from NBC’s online streams directly on their television.   On any given day, up to 25 live streams will showcase every single event at NBCOlympics.com and on the NBC Sports Live Extra app.

NBC is also creating unique content specifically for NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports Live Extra app, including the Gold Zone channel.

Xfinity TV Digital customers will find more Winter Olympic content than ever available on Xfinity On Demand, including pre-Games programming and replays of every medal event, comprising 200 hours of content.
