Lee Wetherington Homes Celebrates Sales Success In 2012

With sales volume up by 76%, Lee Wetherington Homes is celebrating its best year since 2007. The Lakewood Ranch based new home builder’s sales were up by 50% in 2012, compared to 2011 with sales volume topping $20 million.

“The real estate market in this area is definitely back and getting stronger every day,” said Peter Mason, vice-president of sales and marketing for Lee Wetherington Homes. “We had a tremendous growth year in 2012, adding on new employees and growing our business, and we expect 2013 to be even better.”

Revenues in 2012 were also up by 38% for the new home builder and the number of new homes currently in production are up 61% at 29, compared to 18 in 2011.

“It is now clear that the new home market bottomed out in early 2012 and we can now see a sustained upward trajectory moving forward,” said Bill Hager, Lee Wetherington Homes’ Chief Executive Officer. “From all of us here at Lee Wetherington Homes, we would like to sincerely thank our loyal customers for their trust, confidence and continuous support as the market steadily increased throughout this year. We expect even better results in 2013.”

This year Lee Wetherington Homes also re-launched its custom lot division, allowing customers to build on their own lots anywhere throughout Sarasota or Manatee counties. Custom home design is something the well-known Lakewood Ranch based builder has become known for over the years and in 2012, the builder re-hired  Architecture Director Steve Nelson, to lead the business in this area. In addition, the company added on a new Director of Design, Amy Baldwin-Smith.

Other notable news for Lee Wetherington Homes in 2012 included recovery and sales in The Founder’s Club and a new model groundbreaking in the Haddington neighborhood in Country Club East at Lakewood Ranch. The Solivita model will open in early 2013 and starts at2644 square feet and a two-story version can be built with flex options up to about 4000 square feet.
