A Fish-Fried Favorite at "The Creek"

I have a soft-place in my heart for Fish Tacos. I spotted the Fresh Snapper Tacos immediately on the Phillippi Creek Oyster Bar menu. My server recommended a number of the restaurant's newest menu additions, but my craving had already been satisfied by the thought of my ocean favorite. Bring on the avocado, bring on the sour cream! Fish Tacos, you are my kryptonite.

I was given the option to have the snapper fillets deep fried or grilled. Grilled was my first intention, it is the healthier choice, (I had to make room for dessert!) But with a little bit of encouragement, friendly peer pressure and persuasion from my friends, I ordered my first deep-fried tasting of the Fresh Snapper Tacos at “The Creek”.

The presentation of my tacos was enough to make my palate begin to water. Sour cream drizzled over a bed of  lettuce, guacamole, feta cheese crumbles, and of course the battered and golden snapper filets tucked into three blue-corn tortilla shells. My green eyes grew twice in size as my server presented my plate in front of me. Where do I start? How will I eat it all? There was no time to delay.

It was love at first bite. Everyone and everything around me began to fade away, it was just me and my fish tacos. They tasted like no other fish tacos I had eaten before. Completely satisfying, undeniably delicious, so incredibly…..filling.

“Do you want a  box for that?”, my server said. Did he even have to ask? Yes, or course! This last taco will not go to waste. I will disguise the box, hide it behind the orange juice and milk in my fridge, label it as “brussel sprouts” or  whatever I have to do to repel anyone from eating my last Snapper Fish Taco. They are just too good to share =)

The Creek Village consists of the Oyster Bar & Restaurant, The Table and The Creek Gift Shop.  The restaurant is located at 5353 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
