New Lift Station 87 Project Website is Live

A new website dedicated to the Lift Station 87 Project is now live. The site, www.liftstation87.com, features project information, project documents and presentations, frequently asked questions about the project, links to videos of past meetings, and lists upcoming meetings. The site also allows residents to contact the project team by filling out a short online form that logs the person’s concern and generates an email to the project team.

In response to concerns voiced by residents at a public meeting, the site has an “Alerts” link that will provide traffic advisories and announce any issues relating to Lift Station 7.

The Lift Station 87 website will continue to grow as the project moves from design through permitting and construction.

Once completed, the Lift Station 87 Project will improve wastewater service and reliability for the City of Sarasota customers and protect the environment. The new Lift Station 87 will replace existing Lift Station 7, located at 935 Pomelo Avenue. Wastewater flow will be redirected from Lift Station 7 to Lift Station 87, located in Luke Wood Park, via a new gravity sewer pipeline that will need to be constructed under Hudson Bayou.

In addition to visiting the project website, interested parties can also subscribe to email updates at www.egovlink.com/sarasota/subscriptions/subscribe.asp. Also, follow us on Twitter @CityofSarasota.
