On Saturday, July 13, 2013, Chief Bernadette DiPino and officers from the Sarasota Police Department will be joining other law enforcement and firefighting agencies in our area to take part in the 8th annual Boots vs Badges campaign.
The goal is to raise more than 300 units of blood during the friendly competition between law enforcement and firefighters from July 13 – 27.
The campaign kicks off Saturday, July 13 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Westfield Southgate Mall, 3501 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
Sarasota Police Department officers and Chief DiPino will be in a makeshift bucket until the goal of 150 units of blood is reached. Chief DiPino will take the final shift from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. alongside Sarasota Fire Department Captain Susan Pearson to encourage the public to donate.
