Weird Florida: Giant Eyeball Found on Beach to Be Studied in St. Petersburg

A mystery eyeball that washed ashore on Pompano Beach in Florida will be transported to St. Petersburg for study.

A giant eyeball that washed ashore on Pompano Beach is confounding scientists who are trying to solve its origins.

The mystery eyeball will be travel from the Atlantic Coast to the Gulf Coast where the Florida Fish & Wildlife Research Institute will further study the eyeball in St. Petersburg, according to First Coast News.

The blue eyeball is described as the size of a softball.  Some scientists are guessing it may have come from a deep sea squid.
