Kicking Off the Shoeless Shindig

AMOB Announces New Fundraiser

On October 19th, 2013, from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, the Anna Maria Oyster Bar will throw its newest fundraising bash, the Shoeless Shindig at Paradise Point, Holmes Beach. Shindig organizers, spearheaded by John and Amanda Horne, retired the annual Anna Maria Oyster Bar Golf Tournament, which raised more than $600,000 for local charities over the past 11 years, to focus on building this new event. The Shoeless Shindig will benefit the Manatee Education Foundation, the PACE Center for Girls and the University of South Florida, School of Hospitality & Technology scholarships.

Guests will be treated to themed food stations with wine pairings, bourbon tasting, a Patron tent, cigar bar, live music from Kettle of Fish, a full bar, midway games,  a glow-in-the dark sand trap contest, raffle prizes and more.  The Clemson vs. Florida State Game will be also broadcast on the big screen during the event.

He continues, “The dollars we raise during this event will help children in Manatee County by providing a way to improve their lives and ensure a brighter future for them, as well as providing much needed scholarship money to young adults continuing their education at the University of South Florida’s Sarasota Manatee campus.”
