"Summer Meat"ings

Lately, I've been craving some tasty beef and found two great restaurants in the Sarasota area that satisfied the need: Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Carmel Cafe & Wine Bar.

Bring Me That Burger

Is it just me, or is that first grasp around a burger and the anticipation of what is to come, one of the most wonderful thrills? For instance, just the other day I found myself face to face with such a burger during a lunchtime visit to Carmel Café. I had my sights set on their pressed Meyer Natural Angus burger , and I was ready to devour this beautiful sandwich. And devour it, I did. Tender, flavorful and juicy, this burger had it all! The combination of the caramelized onions and the Manchengo cheese paired perfectly with the beef. I am not even ashamed to say that I ate the entire thing. It was worth the splurge.

Prime Time for Some Prime Rib

Just so you know, I am a big prime rib fan and recently tried out this tasty slab at Fleming's. Apparently, Sundays just got a whole lot juicier now that Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar are offering a special prime rib dinner. How about this, for $29.95 guests of Fleming’s can dine on a special three-course menu featuring the prime rib entrée. While Fleming's serves Prime Rib all year long,  this summer special price only runs through September 1st. The price is right to me! A salad, serving of prime rib with a side and a choice of dessert is a sensational deal. It looks like I will be leaving the grill on Sundays to dine on prime rib at Fleming’s instead.

More "meat"ups to come. Can't wait to tell you about some of the amazing places I have in story to write about. Until then, keep your knives sharpened, we have some meating to do!
