Karin Murphy and Andrew Georgiadis of the Urban Design Studio will present the fundamentals about form-based code and how important it is to
participate in the new process that will make it easier to make our communities
live up to our visions for their redevelopment and growth. The studio was created recently by Sarasota city commissioners and charged with drafting their new
codes. Form-based codes use well-defined words and clearly drawn graphics as
tools that everyone in the community can understand and use comfortably. The first steps are learning what these codes are and how they are created.
Form-based codes are the future of community planning, so no matter where we
live, city or county, all need to learn this new process. Here is an
opportunity to learn about that. The meeting is free and open to the
