The Dan Miller/ Lew Del Gatto Quintet

The Glenridge Performing Arts Center (7333 ScotlandWay, Sarasota) is proud to present The Dan Miller/ Lew Del Gatto Quintet, co-produced by theSouth County Jazz Club and GPAC – Saturday, November 10 at 8:00 p.m.
Jazz trumpeter Dan Miller has worked in New York City for 20 years. Hespent eleven years traveling the world and recording with Harry Connick Jr.Dan also toured internationally and recorded with Wynton Marsalis, MaynardFerguson, Tom Jones and Woody Herman. He has performed with: TheLincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, The Lionel Hampton Orchestra, The DukeEllington Orchestra, Curtis Fuller, Branford Marsalis, Randy Brecker, FrankFoster, Jon Hendricks, George Coleman, Charles McPherson, David "Fathead"Newman, Ira Sullivan, Bobby Shew, Jack McDuff, and Jimmy McGriff. Since 2005, he has splithis time between NYC and Florida and he’s currently a member of the Naples PhilharmonicJazz Orchestra. Dan is a Yamaha Clinician and Performing Artist.Tenor saxophonist Lew Del Gatto has been a dynamic figure in the New York music scene forover 40 years. His versatility and knowledge extends to jingles, films, jazz and television. Lewwas with the Saturday Night Live band from 1975-2005 as player, arranger and contractor.Del Gatto played with the Les Elgart Band, Sal Salvador and appeared with the Johnny CarsonTonight Show Band. He played on The Blues Brothers and The Naked Gun 2 ½ soundtracks,and has played the Grammy Awards and Emmy Awards on TV. He has recorded for TonyBennett, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Harry Connick Jr and the Brecker Brothers. Lew hasalso appeared with Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Liza Minelli, Buddy Rich, Herbie Hancock, PhilWoods and the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra. He is currently the co-bandleader and arrangerfor the Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra.
Guitarist Dan Heck, a Berklee School of Music graduate, made his mark on the jazz scenes ofNYC and Seattle playing and recording with Joe Doria, Thomas Marriott and Jay Thomas.
The rhythm section features well-known Naples pianist Stu Shelton on the Hammond B3 organ,and Patricia Dean on drums.The Dan Miller/Lew Del Gatto Quintet – at the Glenridge Performing Arts Center, 7333Scotland Way, Saturday, November 10 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for just $15.00 at
