PARKINSON PLACE is a first of its kind 9000 square foot destination site in Sarasota, Florida dedicated exclusively to the physical, mental, emotional and social needs of those living with Parkinson’s disease. Open 9am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Membership is FREE and easy.

Conveniently located just off I-75 Exit 207 (Bee Ridge Road) in Sarasota, PARKINSON PLACE offers over 80 free programs per month to members in addition to special activities and social events. Programs are led by certified licensed instructors all experts in the field. All participation programs are based on individual ability and can be performed standing or sitting in a chair.

Ongoing educational programs with complimentary buffet lunch include ASK-THE-DOCTOR a monthly Lunch & Learn with Juan Sanchez-Ramos, MD, PhD, Fellowship Trained Movement Disorders Specialist, PRF Medical Director and Director of the USF Parkinson Clinic at Parkinson Place.

 

PARKINSON POWER a weekly Lunch & Learn with Marilyn Tait, a noted expert in the physical and emotional needs of patients and caregivers, offers everything you need to know to live well today with Parkinsons.

VOICE AEROBICS, Voice & Breathing Exercises, with Mary Spremulli and SINGIN’G IN THE PARK CHORUS with Phyllis Lowitt support enhanced speech and swallowing performance while ART 101 with Cheryl Mooney promotes individual creative expression.

CAREGIVING MADE EASY with Marilyn Tait & Denise Drabik provides a nurturing motivational environment for an hour each week where caregivers can speak freely and get the guidance, support and resources necessary to provide dignified long term care for a loved one with Parkinsons.
