Sun Boxes

Sun Boxes is a portable outdoor sound installation from artist Craig Colorusso, presented jointly by Art Center Sarasota and the City of Sarasota. The installation is comprised of twenty solar powered speaker boxes that emit sound of the artist’s composition when in the sunlight.

Sun Boxes will make a tour of Sarasota on two different occasions. The first tour will occur November 4 – 7, 2013 with appearances at the Palm Avenue garage, public beaches, and city parks. The second tour will take place January 1 – 3, 2014 with stops at city parks and public beaches. The artist will be onsite at all installations of the Sun Boxes throughout Sarasota to talk to the public about his work and the Sun Boxes project.
