Humane Society of Sarasota County Offers K-9 Training Courses

Does your dog need to improve his manners? The Humane Society of Sarasota County has just the course for you and your four-legged friend!

Each six-week course is JUST $80--almost half the price of other courses in the area. Each course meets once a week for one hour and is taught by expert trainers.

UPCOMING COURSES

BASIC OBEDIENCE 1

Learn to teach your dog how to behave in your household. Positive reinforcement is used to teach your dog such commands as sit, down, come, stay and also walking on a leash. 

Course Start Dates: Friday, August 2 at 11am & Saturday, August 24 at 8:45am


BASIC OBEDIENCE 2 

Earn a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certificate and build on the skills learned in Basic Obedience 1. These lessons include how to accept a friendly stranger, sit politely for petting, walk through crowds, react to other dogs and so much more.

Course Start Date: Tuesday, August 13 at 5:45pm Saturday, August 24 at 10am


O-GILITY 1

This is a fun class combining agility and obedience. Introduce your dog to simple agility obstacles including such things as the tunnel and jumps. These skills combined with obedience commands make this a great way to have fun with your dog. Dogs must know basic obedience commands to attend this class.

Course Start Dates: Monday, August 12 at 8:45am Saturday, August 24 at 11:15am

O-GILITY 2

Use the skills learned from O-Gility 1 and master the difficult chutes and the table. Dogs must complete O-Gility 1 prior to attending this class.
