Humane Society of Sarasota County Opens Newly Remodeled Feline Rooms

SARASOTA, FL (November 7, 2013) – The Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC) has opened its newly remodeled feline rooms to the public after weeks of construction. To create room for homeless cats desperate for homes, HSSC is reducing its cat adoption fees until November 9th, 2013.

HSSC is proud to now have two free-roaming cat rooms and a kenneled room for our beloved furry felines. The new feline rooms are affectionately named The Kitty Cat Club, The Catnip Lounge and The Cat’s Meow Manor.  The newly remodeled Kitty Cat Club was made possible through a generous matching grant from the Robert Buzzelli Charitable Foundation.

“We’re thrilled we were able to provide wonderful facilities for our felines while they are in our care.  The free-roaming rooms are complete with large windows, wall climbing units and skylights to help with their enrichment and overall socialization,” said Kristi Dorman, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Sarasota County. “In celebration of this grand opening, we reduced cat adoption fees in hopes of finding fu-rever homes for all of our cats, remarked Ms. Dorman.

The adoption fees for kittens and cats range from $45-$95. The adoption fee includes a comprehensive medical exam, vaccinations, spay or neutering, deworming and micro-chipping. This week, adopters will receive $25 off each cat or kitten adoption.

The Humane Society of Sarasota County is the area’s largest no-kill shelter and relies solely on private donations, bequests and community support to continue its mission to provide abandoned pets with compassionate care and shelter while promoting responsible pet ownership and securing permanent homes.
