Humane Society of Sarasota County Teams Up with PetSmart Charities to Increase Cat Adoptions

SARASOTA, FL (February 10, 2014) – The Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC) has partnered with PetSmart Charities to help find homes for its shelter cats.  Beautiful cats will be featured in the PetSmart Adoption Center located at 4942 South Tamiami Trail in Sarasota until February 17th.

"Our partnership with PetSmart Charities provides us the opportunity to showcase our adoptable shelter cats in front of a whole new audience in our community,” said Kristi Dorman, Executive Director of HSSC. “In addition to temporarily housing our cats in their adoption center, PetSmart Charities also provides the Humane Society of Sarasota County a donation per adoption to help us save even more lives,” remarked Ms. Dorman.

PetSmart Charities is committed to ending pet overpopulation and promoting adoption as the best option when selecting a pet. Adoption fees for adult shelter cats range from $45-$75; kittens are $100.  Every pet undergoes a comprehensive medical exam, receives any necessary medical treatment and is spayed/neutered, microchipped, de-wormed and vaccinated.
