Election 2012: What Are You Going to Do if Your Guy Doesn't Win?

The debate on which presidential candidate to vote for has been decisive, so what is going to happen Nov. 6 or 7 when some people learn their candidate didn't win?

Come Tuesday at 7 p.m. it is all over but the shouting. But just how loud is the shouting going to be?

The 2012 election season has been one of the most devisive on record according to most accounts.

Even the discussion here on Patch has got heated on many occasions. Those who support President Barack Obama are solid in their support of him. The same goes for those who support the challenger, Gov. Mitt Romney. But at least one set of supporters is going to come away disappointed. The big question is, how is the country going to handle it? Usually there are threats by some that they will leave the country if their guy doesn't win. This year, however, there have even been threats of riots.

Will you accept the will of the people, settle down and give the president four more years if that is the outcome - even if you didn't vote for him?

If it goes the other way and you didn't vote for Romney, will you accept that the country is not prepared to give Obama another four years and that a new president is about to take the reigns?

What are you going to do if your guy doesn't win?

Did I hear correctly during VP Biden's debated when he asserted: "Obamacare makes medicare solvent to 2024". Did he mean 2124? That's 12 years from now and based on likely rosey projections. What are their plans to reform to extend and strengthen? Why didn't he respond to "Why not raise the age over time gradually?". When I google CBO's long term projections, the current system is unsustainable. I'm not sure about Ryan's plan, but no plan is terrifying. http://bipartisanpolicy.org/projects/debt-initiative/about Still waiting for detailed answers from Obama: (1) What are your plans for tax reform? (2) What are your plans for entitlement reform? (3) What are your plans for overall spending reforms? Why these questions: See CNBC's "Are we rich or poor?" debate (worth watching): http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=1604902615

I'm not worried about my candidate not winning, I'm concerned about the aftermath of possible backlash from the people that are being mislead by the press about their candidate winning. They could really get their feelings hurt and think the other side cheated and stole the election. If you have followed this election closely, you know who the winning person is. So if your person did not win, you can thank your TV for lying to you. I call it the TV BRAIN. So be very careful on November 7th.

move to a new country... this one will be falling apart. it's time to make the hard choice. it will not be easy fixing what the last four years created. the rep. party will close the door on spending. get real... there is no such thing something for nothing. it's time to work for it. jim vee

I wish reporters would read what they write. Whoever wins this election will take over the reins, not the reigns. Last I heard this country still doesn't have a King.

I will support our President elect no matter who wins. I hope our Congress will also. These last four years of tug a war due to their party affiliation have been disgraceful.

Lobby harder than ever against the failed policies and work hard to educate people on basic things, like the capital gains tax is 14% and paying that tax means that you are abiding by the law, NOT being a tax cheat. Then I will laugh at the people who voted in opposition to me when they realize how deceived they have been because they were too lazy to do a little research of their own and foolishly swallowed their Messiah's BS.

We're all in this together! Whether my guy wins or not it will still take compromise and both parties working together to move forward out of economic recession.

NO, THANK YOU! I don’t want Romney’s idea of 'change' including: • A severely conservative Supreme Court. • Tax and jobs plan that doesn’t make mathematical sense as most experts say. • 1% percent control of the nation, • Leader who says “corporations are people”, and puts the needs of corporations before the people. • Higher taxes for middle class and lower taxes for the rich. • Medicare taken bankrupt in 2016, as reports indicate, • Overturn of Roe vs Wade and return women’s rights to the 1950s, • Leader who condemns 47 percent of Americans. • Leader with hot temper and controlling demeanor who is eager to start war against Iran. I’m very pleased to stay with reliable, proven Obama-Biden who are taking America FORWARD - not back to the Bush years!

The media has everyone thinking that this is just another election while we have this monster financial storm coming. If America was a boat in the middle of the ocean with a huge hole in the boat, would you be using your cell phone to call and check on your personal dry cleaning? Would you be thinking, it's just another day on the ocean in the Florida sunshine? No you wouldn't, you would be in a panic wondering how you were going to fix this hole in your boat. The rest of the world is not going to put up with America's continuing to Print billion after billion of new money. If someone dosen't take control of our spending, you people are going to be in the middle of the ocean without a boat or a paddle. It doesn't take 4 years to get something going no matter what he tells you. He had 2 years of Democratic congress and did nothing about the most important thing in America, JOBS. His record stinks. He has done Nothing and I mean Nothing constructive that produces ANYTHING. HIS RECORD STINKS. No matter how you feel about Romney, he has a record doing something consructive and that is what America Needs Now not 4 years from now when the hole in the boat is so big you, yes you are in the middle of the ocean without a boat.If we don't wake up now, we are through and we will NEVER see the America that we know and love again. Thanks for your time. Please start using your common sense that God gave you and don't depend so much and that curse called the TV.
